SUEZ CANAL TRANSIT
Hello everyone,

So a funny thing happened to me today.  I was walking back from the ships store and went out onto the Starboard Gallery
Deck (Troop Walkway) to go out for a smoke.  There was a sailor grinding some rust off of some of the pipes and rails and so I
covered my eyes from him as I walked on by.  Next thing I know I smacked my head into a bolt that was sticking out of a pipe brace.  A
few people asked me if I was alright and so I replied yes, but it was just a little painful.  As I walked past them I moved my hand up to
my head to feel what I had done.  I thought nothing more of it that just a scratch or a small cut, but when I lowered my hand it was
covered in my own blood.  A Gunner’s Mate Chief (GMC) asked me if I was alright and I told him that I should probably go down to
Medical to get myself looked at.  He escorted me down there and I was the “Talk of the town” down in medical.  After all was said and
done I received 8 staples, no anesthesia, in the top of my skull.  Currently I am doing just fine.  I am not light headed or anything, but
I do have a small migraine in my head right now.  I just thought that I would all let you know and I do plan on getting a picture of it for
my record books as well because it is a nice little wound.  Anyway other than that I am doing very well right now and I am just trying to
bide my time and get my Air Pin done.  I should be taking the E-5 Advancement exam as well in a few weeks so wish me the best of
luck.  Don’t be a stranger and feel free to shoot me an e-mail at any time.  Thanks for your support and my thoughts are with you all.
